I've only been here for 3 days, and I'm already loving it. People has always told me that Norway and New Zealand looks the same, apart from that it is more tropical over there, but New Zealand is so much more than that. New Zealand has an unique and dynamic culture reflecting Maori, Pacific Island, European and Asian influences. Something we got to experience while we were going out last night. How many different people who lives down here. We also discovered their accent, how the culture of its indigenous Maori people affects the language.
Among other attractions and activities, we chose to try skydiving. I've always wanted to do it, but never had the guts. Before we went to New Zealand we did some research and decided to do it near Auckland. I was so sure I was going to throw up when we first started to reach a certain hight. We were both going to skydive with a qualified instructor, and no one of us needed previous experiences to do this. So both of us were thrilled of being safely clipped on to a trained instructor who would control the entire skydive.
Just about 3 minutes later I was all set for doing something a lot of people would think of as suicidal. They clipped me on to the instructor and he told me that this was going to be a experience of a lifetime. And yeah I was completely sure of that when it felt like I was going to pee in my pants and throw up at the same time!
1, 2, 3. I was jumping of the plane (and my instructor of course). It was so amazing, we were free falling for 30 seconds in a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. I've never experienced anything like that before, and I can't stop smiling while I'm thinking about it. After those 30 seconds our chute was open and we were for five minutes heading gently towards the ground. It was unforgettable. Just the view over the beautiful nature, I could see green colors everywhere. From this adrenaline pumping skydive we got some photos, so we could remember this day for ever. Even though I will remember this day for a long, long time.
After this incredible, amazing experience we were back in the city of Auckland. The city had a lot of hight buildings and some great architecture buildings. We also saw a lot of trees and stuff around the area, which show the similarities to Norway. After a succeeded third day in New Zealand we had to go to bed to get ready for the next day. For tomorrow we're actually going to see some of the volcanos around Auckland. Can't wait!!
